About the Role
Our client, Transitions Elite, is looking for a Business Development Manager to own event-driven growth and relationship development within the veterinary industry.
This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy individual contributor role with direct ownership of outcomes. You will represent the brand at key industry conferences, build trusted relationships with practice owners, and convert in-person conversations into measurable revenue impact.
This is not a people-management role - success is defined by execution, follow-through, and results.
Industry Context
The role operates within a rapidly consolidating veterinary landscape, including organizations such as Banfield & VCA (Mars Inc.), private equity–backed platforms like Southern Veterinary Partners, Mission Veterinary Partners, Pathway Vet Alliance, PetVet Care Centers, and growing independent groups such as NVA, CareVet, and Community Veterinary Partners.
What Makes This Role Compelling
High-visibility position representing the brand at major industry conferences
Clear ownership of outcomes with direct, measurable impact on growth
Opportunity to help build and shape a core business development function in a fast-scaling company
Close collaboration with senior leadership, marketing, and sales operations
Significant autonomy and trust from day one
Key Responsibilities
Represent Transitions Elite at 5–8 major industry conferences per year
Generate 15+ qualified practice-owner conversations per month from events

Plan and host side events such as breakfasts, panels, and meetups
Convert warm, in-person conversations into qualified opportunities
Ensure clean handoff of leads into the sales pipeline with strong follow-up and accountability
Collaborate closely with leadership, marketing, and sales operations teams
Working Model
Fully remote role with occasional travel to conferences and industry events
Aligned primarily with U.S. Pacific Time
Availability for 1–2 hours of overlap with senior leadership (late afternoon / evening PT)
Additional flexibility required during conference and travel periods
Ideal Background
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or high-touch relationship roles
Proven experience within the veterinary industry
Strong in-person networking and relationship-building skills
Demonstrated ability to convert conversations into real business opportunities
Experience representing a brand at conferences and events
Highly organized, KPI-driven, and execution-focused
Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment
