DevOps Engineer
Our client is building the first programmable-bandwidth supernetwork - an infrastructure that transforms millions of users’ idle internet connections into real-time, multimodal data streams (text, video, audio) for AI systems and enterprise use cases. Every day, users become nodes in a decentralized network that leverages their bandwidth to fetch public web data at massive scale.
The company is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build and operate the global infrastructure that powers Trendminer and the company's supernetwork. You’ll work directly with the CTO to design scalable systems from day one, using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with the ambition to support millions of users and devices worldwide.
This is a rare opportunity to help lay the groundwork for a new paradigm shift: A world where the Internet data finally becomes fully open and accessible to AI. At the company, you’ll be building petabyte-scale data pipelines, orchestrating elastic nodes, and implementing intelligent data routing, while optimizing for uptime, observability, and cost efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Infra Architecture & Scaling:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Architect systems that scale automatically from zero to millions of users and nodes.
- Data Ingestion Infrastructure:
- Design systems that support global-scale scraping, proxy rotation, and real-time data ingestion across diverse formats (HTML, video, audio).
- Cloud Migration:
- Lead the migration from DigitalOcean to AWS, balancing scalability, cost, and security.
- CI/CD & Developer Velocity:
- Build automated pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools to streamline shipping.
- Observability & Ops:
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Sentry).
- Proactively address reliability bottlenecks and maintain a smooth incident response process.
- Security & Infra Hygiene:
- Set up IAM policies, secret management, firewalls, and data protection strategies.
- Ensure GDPR/CCPA compliance and follow security-by-design principles.
- Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work with backend, data, and frontend engineers to ensure the infrastructure supports product needs.
- Contribute to team-wide engineering standards and documentation.
What You Bring
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience (+6 years) with AWS infrastructure and services (EC2, VPC, EKS, IAM, S3, etc.).
- Mastery of Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Familiar with Linux systems, server config, and security best practices.
- Built and maintained CI/CD pipelines, ideally in GitHub Actions.
- Solid knowledge of observability tooling and incident response workflows.
- Experience with high-scale scraping, browserless architectures (e.g., Puppeteer, Playwright), rotating proxy networks, or data extraction pipelines.
- Mindset & Culture Fit:
- Builder Mentality: You’re hands-on, autonomous, and thrive in high-ownership environments. You ship fast, debug deep, and treat infra as a product, not just a system.
- First Principles Thinker: You don’t default to standard playbooks. You question assumptions, design from scratch when needed, and optimize for scale, cost, and resilience.
- Bias for Action: You make pragmatic calls, iterate quickly, and prioritize momentum over perfection.
- Mission-Driven: You’re excited by the idea of building a new paradigm for AI systems.
- Collaborative by Default: You enjoy working closely with leadership, giving and receiving clear feedback, and pushing the bar with a lean, talented team.
What the company offers
- Foundational Role: Play a core part in shaping the infrastructure of a high-growth AI/data company. You'll join early, with the ability to drive architecture, reliability, and scale across the network.
- Strong Incentives: Competitive compensation, token allocation, and performance-based bonuses tied to network growth and uptime metrics.
- High-Leverage Work: Build critical systems that underpin petabyte-scale data flows and power real-time intelligence for autonomous agents and enterprise clients.
- Remote-First Culture: Work from anywhere with async flexibility. Join the core tech team in Singapore, or operate fully remotely.
- Tight Feedback Loops: Collaborate directly with the CTO and leadership team, with fast iteration cycles and high visibility on outcomes.
