Position Overview
We are seeking a Community Relations Specialist (mid-level or lead, depending on experience) to lead community outreach initiatives across Montana markets. This role serves as a strategic liaison between our client and the communities they serve, ensuring transparent communication, strong local relationships, and effective public engagement throughout fiber network deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the lead community liaison in active and new markets, managing outreach and relationship strategies.
Plan and execute community engagement events such as town halls, civic group presentations, open houses, and Chamber of Commerce meetings.
Collaborate with internal teams (construction, engineering, operations) to align community messaging with project timelines.
Develop and manage multi-channel communication strategies (digital, social, in-person).
Monitor and report on community sentiment, and escalate issues with strategic recommendations.
Manage the community hotline and inbox, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries within 72-hour SLA.
Coordinate resolution of community construction concerns (e.g., property access, damage).
Build and maintain an active online community presence.
Identify and foster relationships with local leaders and influencers in new markets.
For senior candidates: mentor junior team members and support the development of scalable engagement processes.
Standardize tools, templates, and communication materials for consistency across markets.
Provide executive-level reporting on outreach, sentiment, issue resolution, and strategic insights.

Required Qualifications
2–5+ years of experience in community relations, public affairs, customer engagement, or a related field (infrastructure or telecom preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills adaptable to varied audiences.
Ability to manage multiple markets and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service skills and conflict resolution capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media community engagement platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership or mentoring experience with junior team members.
Experience in broadband, telecom, or utility industries.
Familiarity with civic engagement practices, local government, and HOAs.
Experience with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot, Constant Contact).
Physical & Job Requirements
Ability to travel frequently (25–50%) based on project phases.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working extended hours, including nights/weekends as needed.
