Job Title: Finance Officer (MFSA)
Time zones: UTC+1 / UTC+2 / UTC+3
Fluent proficiency in English and Ukrainian is required.
Our client is a leading Electronic Money Institution (EMI) authorised by the FCA in the UK, FINTRAC in Canada, and MFSA in Malta, operates in 140 countries and over 25 industries. Offering multicurrency IBANs, merchant solutions, and mass payment options, the company provides premium and convenient payment services. With all features available through one platform and contract, the company is a preferred solution for local and international payments.
They’re thrilled to be expanding their operations into a new market, having recently received a Maltese licence. To support this exciting phase of growth, they are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Officer to establish and oversee all financial aspects of their operations in Malta and globally.
Your regular tasks
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards, including any other relevant standards.
- Manage cash flow, P&L performance, and efficient treasury operations.
- Financial control experience with a focus on prudent funds and cost management.
- Lead internal and external audits, addressing findings effectively.
- Build and manage a high-performing finance team.
- Develop financial models to aid strategic planning and scenario analysis.
- Provide actionable financial insights to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
- The company may require the hired candidate to act as an official representative in interactions with regulators and authorities, and be appointed as the regulatory representative nominee with the Malta Central Bank, MFSA, and any other relevant authorities.
- Data extraction, analysis, and structuring for reporting purposes.
Skills & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in financial roles within FinTech industries (EMI/PSP/ or related).
- Experience with the MFSA license.
- Experience preparing and submitting BR06 and Payments Statistics Survey (CMPSS) reports for Malta’s finance industry.
- Expertise in auditing and safeguarding accounts.
- Experience with regulatory reporting.
- Understanding of payment systems and electronic money operations.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS), tax regulations, and financial audit.
- Familiarity with financial reports for regulators, including Central Banks or MFSA.
- Demonstrated success in managing cash flow, liquidity, and audits.
- Experience in corporate finance, including capital structure and budgeting.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, 1C, Oracle or other).
- Fluent English and Ukrainian/Russian are a must.
- Maltese language would be a plus.
Education
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are a plus.
