This role is critical for the company’s success. As a Manual QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of their platform through meticulous testing and validation processes. You’ll contribute to a high-growth environment where your efforts directly impact customer satisfaction and help them maintain their position as the industry standard. What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute thorough and creative manual test plans, including regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Perform all testing primarily on web applications, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
- Create detailed test checklists and test cases on the fly when testing new features, adapting to evolving requirements.
- Collaborate with the development team to debug and resolve issues efficiently.
- Own the quality assurance process, proactively identifying edge cases and ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Provide testing sign-off for production launches, ensuring all features meet quality standards.
- Identify and log bugs with clear, actionable details, and track their resolution with developers.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and manage your time independently to meet deadlines.
- Continuously improve QA processes and maintain organized, detailed documentation of your work.
- Participate in planning and grooming meetings.
It’s a Match If You Have:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer, working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English (B2 minimum, C1 preferred) for clear communication with international teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Chrome DevTools to identify front-end issues.
- Experience collaborating with designers using tools like Figma to validate design implementation.
- Familiarity with Firebase and Mongo DB.
- Experience with at least 1 tracking tool (preferably Jira or ClickUp).
- Proven ability to work effectively with partially written requirements or limited documentation.
- Strong skills in creating test plans, test cases, and checklists from scratch.
- A proactive mindset and a desire to take ownership of responsibilities, excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- High self-discipline and a proven ability to work independently without needing constant supervision.
- Comfort and experience working in an international environment with team members across multiple time zones and cultural backgrounds.
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience working in a startup environment.
- Familiarity with real estate or project management software.
- Familiarity with payment platforms like Stripe, automation tools like Zapier and accounting tools like QuickBooks or Xero.
- Experience with basic automation testing tools or an interest in learning them.
Performance Metrics and Success
Expected Outcomes in the First 3–6 Months:
- Successful testing and sign-off for at least two production releases, ensuring all features meet quality standards.
- Creation of a robust, repeatable QA process tailored to the company’s needs, including comprehensive test documentation.
- Establishment of a proactive working relationship with the development team, enabling efficient debugging and issue resolution.
- Consistent delivery of high-quality test coverage and actionable feedback, contributing to the overall stability and reliability of the platform.
